Los Angeles Rams defense attorney Aaron Donald said Friday that witnesses and surveillance videos disprove a man’s claim that the player attacked him at a Pittsburgh nightclub last weekend.
Attorney Casey White told WPXI-TV that the video shows that Donald did not attack anyone but tried to save the victim De’Vincent Spriggs.
The station broadcast a black and white video showing about a dozen men and a hand-to-hand combat in which a man, allegedly Spriggs, landed on the ground. White says Donald is on the video, pulling someone out of the fight.

“Aaron says, ‘I have nothing to hide, let’s go to the police, let’s do what we have to do. Because all I want to do is go to the weight room and work out and not bother, ”White told the station.
White told ESPN that five witnesses say Donald helped move people away.
“He’s trying to get these kids from Spriggs. He’s getting at least two or three people out of Spriggs and at that point someone grabs Aaron and says, “This is not a good situation, let’s get out of here,” White told ESPN.
A message asking for further comment was left for white.
Spriggs’ attorney Todd J. Hollis said Donald and others attacked Spriggs and caused multiple injuries that required hospital treatment.
Spriggs, 26, filed a complaint with the Pittsburgh police on Wednesday, who are investigating. No charges were filed.
Hollis’ office said early Friday that it had no comment on the video or White’s testimony. But on late Friday night after the video was posted on Twitter, Spriggs scaled back his initial assault claim.
Hollis told Andy Sheehan of Pittsburgh’s KDKA TV News that Spriggs made a mistake and originally thought it was Donald who attacked him and not others. Spriggs is supposed to offer Donald an apology. In the video, Spriggs can be seen on the street with his hands over his face obscured.

Donald actually tries to pull others away from Spriggs before being physically pulled away from the altercation.
White said Spriggs previously elbowed Donald and brandished a liquor bottle that brushed Donald’s face, and Donald did not fight back.
“He turned and it’s this Mr. Spriggs … and Aaron says, ‘What’s wrong?’ and Mr. Spriggs begins to scream belligerently, “Did I want that? Did I want that?” He keeps repeating, it’s kind of nonsensical, but he keeps yelling, “Did I want that?” For Aaron and all the witnesses it is obvious that (Spriggs) is drunk, ”White told ESPN.
Hollis has said Spriggs clashed with Donald and Donald escalated matters leading to the alleged attack.
The incident occurred on Sunday at 3 a.m. on the south side of the city. White said the men had been to a private party in an apartment and after the initial confrontation, Donald and another person ran into Spriggs on a back alley.
Named NFL Defensive Player of the Year by the Associated Press in February, 29-year-old Donald played college football at the University of Pittsburgh.
