SAN ANTONIO The transition from wearing masks has many questions about whether this could lead workplaces or schools to mandate COVID-19 vaccines.
Cubeta Law Group partner Kelli Cubeta says workplaces have the right to require employees to get the vaccine. There would also be exceptions for health or religious reasons. However, according to Cubeta, this vaccine requirement could be a waste of time.
“There is no empirical way to confirm that they received the vaccine unless you watch them hug them,” Cubeta said.
Cubeta also said employees may find illegal ways to show evidence, such as buying counterfeit vaccination cards online. She believes one solution would have been to create a universal vaccination database before the vaccines were issued, much like the way employers check eligibility for employment.
