As a U.S. attorney, Carpenito oversaw all federal law enforcement and civil matters in New Jersey. Under the leadership of Carpenito, the U.S. Attorney’s Office has been responsible for some of the top law enforcement operations in health and life sciences, accounting, merchandise and financial fraud, and other investigations related to trading exchanges, spoofing, cybercrime, telemedicine, and genetic testing as matters affecting key federal enforcement laws , including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the False Claims Act, and the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. During his tenure, Carpenito also led the Department of Justice’s national COVID-19 hoarding and price-cutting task force and was a member of the Attorney General’s advisory subcommittees on Healthcare Fraud, Cybersecurity and Cryptocurrencies.
