Broady, as a prosecutor, said he would prioritize transparency and restorative justice rather than punitive justice.
“Many of the people who come before the criminal justice system we can bring back into the community as productive citizens, and that will be our greatest focus,” he said. “We will try to make sure we get a grip on economic and just injustice in the criminal justice system and try to ensure that it is fair and equal for everyone in the community.”
In a statement, Holmes said she was proud of the work she had done as a prosecutor since she was appointed to the position 16 months ago.
“The rest of the journey is always about the mission and not the position,” she said.
