I took a long hiatus yesterday to witness the historic inaugurations of President Joseph Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. There is much to celebrate and learn from our new leaders, including how men and women can work productively side by side.
However, a new election means more new opportunities for lawyers. I wrote on new topics after the last presidential election. Here is a brief summary of Biden’s Seventeen Executive Orders and what they mean to attorneys. The orders will implement changes for immigration, revitalize the focus on climate change, and strengthen Title VII of the Civil Law Act to require that the federal government not discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. Biden will also be extending the hiatus on student loan rates and principal payments at the federal level.
What are you looking forward to for this new administration?
