Court rejects bail plea of lawyer in murder case | Pune News

Trichy: The arrest of the six defendants in connection with the murder of a lawyer in Trichy has revealed that the gang killed him in order to avenge the murder of his ex-neighbor.
The court police arrested V Brijesh Prasanth (22) from Cherama Nagar in Coimbatore and his accomplices M Uthayakumar (23) from Thiruvanaikovil, P Suresh (20) from Kalapatti in Coimbatore, K Nallathambi (27) from Thiruvanaikovil, A Arun (20) from Thiruvanaikovil and S Siddique (19) from Thiruvanaikovil for the murder of the lawyer A Gopikannan, 33, from North Eda Street in Beema Nagar in the city of Trichy.
Gopikannan was murdered by the gang on Heber Road near Trichy District Court on May 9th. The police received CCTV footage of the crime scene, but the identity of the accused could not be established.
The investigation led to the suspicion that it was a death of revenge. The police followed the case from one angle. A gang of six had murdered Hemanthkumar in 2018 at the behest of Gopikannan, as he was hostile to Hemanthkumar for staging a temple festival. He was arrested and released on bail. Hemanthkumar’s family later moved to Coimbatore.
His brother Brijesh Prasanth has teamed up with his accomplices to avenge the murder. They hacked him to death in front of his little daughter who rode a bicycle. tnn
