This award was presented to only a select group of lawyers for their superior skills and qualifications in their field. The National Black Lawyers: Top 100 is an honorary professional organization comprised of the top 100 Black Lawyers from each state that serves individuals, families and businesses who need lawyers to represent them in the American legal system. Ali, a former sworn police officer and veteran of the US Marine Corps, earned a doctorate in law from Trinity International University Law Faculty; a Masters in Administration of Justice (MS) and Business (MBA) from University of Phoenix;; a degree in humanities with a focus on African Studies from Regents College through a consortium with Tennessee State University;; He is currently a PhD student in Economic Research and Pan-African Business Ethics in California Southern University.

Ali was admitted to the California bar. United States District Courts for the Districts of Central California, Southern California, Northern California, and Colorado;; United States Court of Appeal for the fifth, ninth, tenth, and eleventh circuits; United States Supreme Court; African Court of Human Rights and Human Rights; and the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands.

2007, inspired by the legacy of civil rights attorneys Charles Hamilton Houston, Thurgood MarshallLawyer Zulu Ali opened the law firm of Zulu Ali & Associates, LLP with a focus on representing those accused of crimes. He used the law and the courts as a means of making change and protecting all people from injustice and seeking criminal justice, immigrants and those seeking civil justice in state, federal and international courts. “We are taking on extremely difficult cases and matters that provide an opportunity to make changes to the law in court when the law is unfair.
