Ali, a former sworn police officer and veteran of the US Marine Corps, earned a doctorate in law from Trinity International University Law Faculty; a Masters in Administration of Justice (MS) and Business (MBA) from University of Phoenix;; a degree in humanities with a focus on African Studies from Regents College through a consortium with Tennessee State University;; He is currently a PhD student in Economic Research in the Pan-African Economy in California Southern University.
