Bob Wright, a Lafayette lawyer for over 60 years and founder of Domengeaux Wright Roy and Edwards, has passed away.
Wright came to Lafayette in 1957 after graduating from law school and joined former Congressman Jimmy Domengeaux to practice law. He was also passionate about horse racing and was a long-time member of the Louisiana Racing Commission.
“It was with great regret that we learned of Bob Wright’s death last night in New Orleans. We have lost a dear friend, mentor and partner,” said Jim Roy, a partner with the company.
Here is some information from his company’s website:
Wright received his PhD from Tulane University Law School, where he was a member of the Tulane Law Review, the Moot Court Board, and Omicron Delta Kappa. He is admitted to the bar in all federal and state courts in Louisiana, the Federal Fifth Circuit, and the US Supreme Court.

He is also listed on Woodward White’s The Best Lawyers in America, a publication that has been described as “the most respected referral list of lawyers in practice.”
