ST. LOUIS – Eastern District of Missouri has a new US attorney.
Sayler Fleming was appointed by Attorney General William Barr to replace Jeff Jensen, who resigned earlier this month. Fleming took over from Thursday.
Fleming now heads the district that serves 49 Missouri counties. The US attorney is responsible for prosecuting crimes such as terrorism, public corruption, child exploitation, and others.
Fleming was Appellate Leader at the US law firm. A native of Charleston, Missouri, was previously an associate at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner.
Jensen was nominated by President Donald Trump in 2017. He replaced Richard Callahan, who was nominated by President Barack Obama in 2009.
