No timetable for release of CPD bodycam of fatal shooting of 13-year-old: attorneys

CHICAGO – Police bodycam footage of the fatal shooting of a 13-year-old boy in Little Village may not be publicly released on Friday.

The video would reportedly be released on Friday, but lawyers representing Adam Toledo’s family said there was no schedule for the video to be released.

Attorneys were told that the video will not be released until the family has seen it. However, the family has not yet been given a date for viewing the footage.

The 13-year-old boy was shot in person and killed by police in Little Village

Adam was killed last week in an “armed confrontation” called by the police. Police said they found Adam in an alley on the 2400 block on South Sawyer Avenue on March 29, before opening fire.

His mother was not informed of his death until two days later, and the police did not reveal that Adam was 13 years old until three days after the shooting.

He will be laid to rest in a private service on Friday.
