NY attorney general settles suit vs. anti-abortion activists | WETM

NEW YORK (AP) – New York Attorney General Letitia James announced on Friday a settlement with two anti-abortion protesters who accused her of molesting activities outside a Manhattan clinic for a fine of $ 5,000 Violations.

James filed a lawsuit against Bevelyn Beatty and Edmee Chavannes in February, accusing them of repeatedly banning patients from the planned parenting clinic in violation of access laws and threatening violence against patients and staff.

According to the deal, the women agreed to stay out of an area that covers the sidewalk a certain distance in either direction from the entrance to the clinic and would be fined every time they breached it.

Emails seeking comments were sent to advocates for the women and a website associated with them.
