A colleague lawyer and Facebook friend recently made a simple query: he asked if we knew that his law firm was handling employment and injury cases. At least half of the 40 respondents (myself included) knew he was treating one area but not the other. As a result of my colleague’s survey, I have now learned of a resource I did not previously have for recommendations on specific topics.
This simple post is a brilliant marketing two-fer. It’s an opportunity to (1) introduce what you are doing to other Facebook friends and (2) test the effectiveness of your marketing message. Plus, it only takes a minute. The technique also works across platforms – it would be equally effective on Twitter or LinkedIn.
Not all marketing campaigns cost thousands of dollars or take hours to write content. Sometimes checking in to ask a simple question can plant another seed that you will harvest later.
