Martindale-Hubbell® Client Review Ratings ™ display ratings submitted by clients of lawyers and law firms.
The rating of the customer rating is determined by aggregating validated answers. Individuals who submit reviews are clients of law firms that have hired a lawyer within the past year but are not pending and want to share their experience with that lawyer or law firm with other potential clients. Appraisers can be anyone hiring a lawyer, including internal lawyers, officers, small business owners, and individuals.
Martindale-Hubbell confirms that the reviewer is a person with a valid email address. As part of the review process, respondents have to confirm that they were clients of the lawyer or law firm identified last year, although Martindale-Hubbell cannot confirm the lawyer-client relationship, which is often confidential. The content of the answers comes exclusively from customer auditors.
Past results do not guarantee a similar result and Martindale-Hubbell is not responsible for the content or accuracy of reviews.

Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings ™ have been the gold standard for attorney ratings for more than a century. These ratings indicate lawyers who are widely respected by their peers for their ethical standards and legal expertise in a particular area of practice.
The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and completeness. Lawyers requested for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney under review and those independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All experts are verified as lawyers by Martindale-Hubbell's extensive database of lawyers. Only lawyers who have been practicing for at least three years and receive a sufficient number of reviews from unrelated lawyers are eligible to receive a rating.
What Are the Different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?* *
• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating means that a large number of the lawyer's colleagues rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence based on their legal knowledge, communication skills, and ethical standards.
• Excellent: An excellent rating for a lawyer with some experience. This rating shows that the lawyer is widely respected by his colleagues for high professional performance and ethical standards.
• Remarkable: This rating indicates that the lawyer has been recognized by a large number of his colleagues for strict ethical standards.
Lawyers who received peer reviews after 2009 display more detailed information, including practice areas, summary reviews, detailed numerical reviews, and written feedback (if available). Details of individual reviews received before 2009 are not shown.
Lawyers who receive peer reviews but not enough to create a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review will display these reviews on our websites.

Ratings and ratings are feedback from people who have either consulted a lawyer about a problem (but may not have hired the lawyer) or from people who have hired a lawyer as a current or past customer and have provided their feedback to our sister site Avvo.com .
