A lawsuit was recently filed over complaints that President Biden’s American bailout plan discriminates against white farmers.
Earlier this week, Stephen Miller, a former Trump adviser, filed a lawsuit on behalf of the Texan Agriculture Commissioner and others over allegations that a proposal passed by Congress as part of President Biden’s US rescue plan discriminates against white people. The proposal under fire provides funding for “socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers”. However, the lawsuit alleges that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) through the program is actively and insidiously discriminating against American citizens based solely on their race.

Working with America First Legal (AFL), Miller explains:
“The United States Department of Agriculture administers numerous laws that provide government aid to ‘socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers.’ The Department of Agriculture interprets this term to include African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, Alaskan Indians, Asian Americans, and Pacific Islanders … But white farmers and ranchers are not included in the definition of “deprived farmers and ranchers” so they are not entitled to assistance under these federal programs. “
The lawsuit goes on to say:
“These racist bans are obviously unconstitutional and the Court should permanently prohibit their enforcement. This will promote equality for all American citizens under the law and encourage efforts to end racial discrimination.”
The lead plaintiff in the case is Sid Miller, Texas Agriculture Commissioner. However, AFL claims that he is acting “in his personal capacity as a private individual and not on behalf of the state”. When the lawsuit was announced, Stephen Miller quoted the late Martin Luther King Jr. as saying, “Americans should not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” He added:
“MLK’s vision is fundamental to our democracy, where all citizens are equal both before the law and in the eyes of their Creator. That’s why AFL is filing a lawsuit against the Biden Administration today to prevent it from administering programs created under the American Rescue Plan Act, which discriminates against American farmers and ranchers based on their race. “
He also cited a 2007 ruling by Chief Justice John Roberts which said, “The way to stop racial discrimination is to end racial discrimination.”
In response to the complaint, the Department of Agriculture stated that during the review it “will continue to implement debt relief for qualified disadvantaged borrowers under the American Rescue Plan Act”.
This isn’t the only legal complaint Miller and the AFL have made against the Biden administration. In fact, earlier this month they filed a complaint about Biden’s immigration policy. The complaint reads: “The unlawful job of the Biden government means more Texans will be exposed to Covid-19, more Texans will be contracting Covid-19, more Texans will die from Covid-19, and Texas will cost significant resources for that Healthcare and Law Enforcement. “
