ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – United States attorney Jeff Jensen has resigned and has been replaced by Salyer A. Fleming.
Jensen’s resignation took effect at midnight on December 30th.
Fleming was appointed as the new US attorney on December 31, after being appointed by Attorney General William Barr on December 11.

Fleming is a United States attorney, the senior federal law enforcement officer in the eastern district of Missouri, her office said.
“After serving most of my legal career as the United States Assistant Attorney, I am deeply humbled and honored to serve in this capacity in the Office and the federal judicial district,” said Fleming.
“I have great respect for my colleagues who work tirelessly to uphold the rule of law and fulfill the Ministry of Justice’s mission. I look forward to continuing this important and necessary work with our partners at the federal, state and local levels. “
Jensen announced he plans to join a private law firm in the St. Louis area.
The eastern district of Missouri comprises 49 counties with offices in St. Louis and Cape Girardeau. The office has 76 attorneys and is responsible for conducting all criminal and civil litigation in the district in which the United States government is involved.
