Washington [US]Dec. 26 (ANI): Amid a sexual misconduct lawsuit filed by ex-girlfriend FKA twigs against Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf, LaBeouf’s attorney has stated that the actor needs help and long-term inpatient treatment being pursued by him.
Lute! News, in the lawsuit, the 32-year-old British-born musician had accused the 34-year-old actor of sexual battery, assault and emotional distress. She also accused Shia of knowingly giving her a sexually transmitted disease. LaBeouf has not been charged with any crime.
In a statement, LaBeouf’s attorney Shawn Holley told E! News on Friday (local time): “Shia needs help and he knows it.” Shawn added: “We are actively looking for meaningful, intensive and long-term inpatient treatment that he urgently needs.”
FKA branches had filed their lawsuit on December 11th, and their attorney Bryan Freedman had said the lawsuit was filed when the singer tried to settle the matter privately, but LaBeouf was allegedly “unwilling to consent to any reasonable assistance” .
The “Transformers” actor had made a statement to the New York Times in which he said he was part of a 12-step program and focused on his sobriety. He told the publication, “Although many of these allegations are not true. I am unable to defend my actions.”
He concluded by saying, “I am not cured of my PTSD and alcoholism, but I am determined to do what I have to do to recover and I will harm the people I may have harmed along the way have to be sorry forever. ” (ANI)
