Prosecutors are investigating the fatal shots fired at the Holly Hill store
An investigation into a fatal shooting Thursday at a Holly Hill store continues.
HOLLY HILL, Fla. – – An investigation into a fatal shooting Thursday at a Holly Hill store continues.
The Holly Hill Police Department surrounded a warehouse at 433 Walker Street shortly after 1:30 p.m.
According to an 911 call from FOX 35 News, a man who said he was the shopkeeper called to report the shooting.
Caller: “There was a shot.”
Dispatch: “A shooting.”
Dispatch: “Who shot him?”
Caller: “I have.”
Police identified the victim as Allen Fike, 37, from Ormond Beach. Investigators said Fike went to the store to confront the owner with goods they had an ongoing problem with.
Sending: “Okay, was it on purpose or by accident?”
Caller: “He deliberately threatened to kill me.”
The caller informed dispatch that Fike threatened to kill him.
“He threatened me several times. He came over last night and threatened to kill me, and today he came in here and threatened to kill me (inaudible). He said, ‘I don’t make threats’ and he came to Me and I (inaudibly) shot, “you can hear him say.
The shooter was not identified, but a police report said he stayed and was secured at the scene. No charges were filed.
Investigators said they are working with prosecutors to conduct a thorough investigation.
