Superintendent’s attorneys file motion to dismiss indictment

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – In the recent petition from Broward County Public Schools’ attorneys, Robert Runcie, we learned that they would like the charges dismissed or further details of the charges.

The motion states in part: “Mr. Runcie respectfully submits that the prosecution has not provided him with sufficient information on the details of his crime to prepare a defense in the case. “

The newly filed motion also revealed that Runcie gave 18 hours of testimony for 18 hours to the statewide grand jury on March 31 and April 1.

His lawyers are confident that he will be exonerated.

On Friday morning, a group of community, business, religious and other officials gathered outside the Broward County Public Schools administration building to express their support for Runcie.

“Is that politics or is it political tricks?” asked Basil Bernard, President of Apricot Office Interiors, who was one of the supporters, speaking on a podium in front of the building.

It’s all politics, dirty politics, they say.
