BUFFALO, NY – US attorney James P. Kennedy Jr. of the western district says his office is not lightly taking the action of those involved in the riot in the US Capitol.
According to Kennedy, his office received “a series of hints and tips about yesterday’s events in the Capitol Building.”
Kennedy says the US attorney general is investigating these tips and that if any of them are found to have a “legal link” between the crimes at the Capitol and their jurisdiction, they will prosecute them.
“We will not hesitate to incriminate those responsible,” said Kennedy. “Violence is never an acceptable means of protest. We are one nation, and as such, the unity that emerges from mutual respect for the rule of law and others is our only hope for lasting solutions to the challenges we face. Escalate.” Hostility and violence diminish us all. ”
